Team Falken Secures 1st Place Victory At The 2025 Mint 400
PRIMM, NV – Team Falken returned to the Mint 400 this year, sporting the iconic Falken Teal and Blue livery again after a brief hiatus. The Mint 400, known as “The Great American Off-Road Race,” has held the title as one of the toughest, most spectacular off-road races since 1968. Team Real Racing and Team Falken driver Michael Scafuto and co-driver Corey Monroe battled against the challenging Nevada desert in their Falken liveried, 1300 horsepower 4WD Trophy truck outfitted with 40” Falken Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01. Scafuto and Monroe reigned supreme in this 400-mile race through the Mojave, securing a 1st place victory in the Unlimited 4WD Trophy Truck class.
This year’s Mint 400 event unveiled challenging conditions for every competitor. The racecourse is a brutal mix of high-speed open desert terrain, rocky technical sections, deep silt beds, relenting whoops, and high-flying jumps. These harsh features, combined with the frigid Mojave winter weather and long distances, push the drivers and their vehicles to the absolute limits. “It made King of the Hammers look like a mellow race,” Scafuto remarked.
To navigate through this long and grueling race, Team Real Racing planned for victory by racing with attentiveness. Scafuto expertly maintained a consistent pace throughout the race to preserve the trophy truck’s capabilities, sustaining an average lap time of 2:01:23.715. “We maintained a solid pace throughout the race, ensuring we did not push the truck too hard,” Scafuto stated. Team Real Racing previously faced mechanical issues that hindered their performance. The team resolved the mechanical problems after the previous race, and they adapted this strategy for this race with victory in mind.
Michael and Corey adhered to the plan throughout the race and showcased their exceptional skill and precision by completing the course in just a little over eight hours—two hours faster than the second-place finisher. The plan to race at a consistent pace proved worthwhile, as they finished in first place with a total time of 8:05:34.860, their fastest time being 1:52:29.022, and a top speed of 129.5 miles per hour.
Team Real Racing also noted the 40” Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01 tires as a key factor in their victory. The tires proved their durability and adaptability by delivering exceptional handling in every condition throughout the course and overcoming the brutal impacts that the rocks, whoops, and jumps inherently bring.
“It has been a long road getting our new 4WD truck to the podium, but with the hard work and dedication of our entire team and our Crew Chief, Chris Allen of Allen Motorsports, we made it happen,” Scafuto stated.
“The racing conditions that Team Real Racing put the Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01 through provide valuable data for our engineers, and this information will aid in our ongoing goal of manufacturing industry-leading light truck tires,” said Bakari Howard, Falken Tires’ Motorsports Manager. “Mike and the team fought hard all day, and in the end, it paid off and seeing a Falken Teal and Blue vehicle win the Unlimited 4WD Trophy Truck Class was exciting.”
Team Real Racing will compete at Legacy Racing's Baja Nevada 1000 Mile Race from June 25th to June 29th.
