Team Falken’s Justin Hall Takes 2nd at Crandon World Championship Off-Road Races

CRANDON, WI – Team Falken driver Justin Hall showed why he is considered one of the top drivers in the 4500 Class of Ultra4 with an impressive showing at Crandon International Speedway for the 54th Crandon World Championships. Hall started from the back of the pack since he didn’t have a qualifying race coming into the Big House – but still managed to secure Second Place in his 4500 Class race.

“I had an outstanding start coming from the 21st position to seventh overall and first in the 4500 Class by the time we got to the first turn,” said Hall. “Unfortunately, a major accident in turn one led to a full restart. I was feeling great about how things had turned out. The question was, could I do it again?”

On the restart, Hall got another great jump off the line and again found himself leading the 4500 Class, in seventh overall.

“Things were looking up as we made our way to turn two,” Hall said. “My Suzuki Samuari got hit from behind which spun me out. This dropped me back in the pack, landing me in fourth in the 4500 Class. Knowing that there was a lot of race in front of me, and my best section was still to come in the rocks, I decided to play the long game and wait for the right time to make my move.”

Hall waited for the right opportunity to pick off the competition as he made his way back to the challenging rock section. His strategy paid off; he gradually worked his way through the pack and regained the lead.

“My #13 Suzuki Samurai was performing well and my Falken Wildpeak R/Ts were unstoppable,” said Hall. “I led the majority of the race and built up a good lead heading toward the end of the race. When my next challenge came into play, I had a mechanical issue and broke the front drive shaft. Despite this setback, I pushed on trying to limp my way across the finish line before being overtaken. Unfortunately, I did get passed on the very last straight away – but we still came away with Second.”

“We are so proud of the performance Justin Hall put forth here today,” said Doug Fletcher, Falken’s Supervisor for Off-Road Motorsports. “It’s a testament to his skills, experience, plus his sheer determination to secure such a strong finish despite all the adversity this Crandon track could throw at him. This was a great finish to this race and a true showing of what the right tire can do in the hands of such a consummate driving professional like Justin Hall.”

The next Ultra4 event is scheduled for September 28th – the Best Dam Race of the Year – in Disney, OK.
