Team Falken’s Justin Hall Takes 2nd Place At NorCal Rock Race Round 1
PRAIRIE, CA – Team Falken driver, Justin Hall, continues to provide strong performances in the 4500 class, this time at the 2024 NorCal Rock Racing series. Hall secured a 2nd place finish in an eventful showing during this year’s hectic race.
The start of the event was met with heavy rainstorm, causing the track to be too muddy to practice on. This resulted in the qualifying race also getting cancelled, so a random draw was needed to decide starting positions for Saturday’s race.
For Saturday’s race, Justin instantly pulled out front at the start and led the whole race until a mishap half-way through the last lap. Hall tried to correct an offbeat maneuverer during a turn but was too late in doing so, causing his car to flip and suffer a harsh roll. Luckily, Justin came out of the roll uninjured and was able to address a few issues with the car before going into the second heat.
The second heat also proved to be challenging for Hall, as his throttle pedal broke. Justin was only able to get 50% out of the throttle, forcing him into a disadvantage and race at a much slower speed throughout the rest of the second heat. Although he was racing with a substantial limitation, Justin managed to finish the heat in 3rd place.
As the main race began, Justin was able to race at full capacity as he and his team managed to resolve all the issues with the car. With everything fixed, Hall skillfully produced a strong performance and was able to secure a 2nd place finish after starting at the back of the pack.
“We had zero flat tires all day and we were the only team in class to not have a single flat tire,” said Justin Hall. “The Wildpeak R/Ts were hooking up in the sloppy mess and really made me feel confident pushing hard into the rock sections knowing that I would not get a flat tire. After our tough day, 2nd place was a great place to end up.”
“Justin delivered a masterclass performance, proving why he is considered one of the top drivers in the 4500 class,” said Doug Fletcher, Falken’s Supervisor for Off-Road Motorsports. “He continues to amaze everyone by persevering through all the setbacks he experiences. We are very proud to have someone as hardworking and talented as him represent Team Falken.”
Round 2 of the NorCal Rock Racing Series is scheduled for May 10th and 11th at Prairie City, CA.
