Falken Tires To Become Official Tire Of Final Bout, Dedicated To Grassroots Drifting Events

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – Nearly two decades have passed since the sport’s introduction to North America, and Falken Tires’ passion for drifting remains unmatched. It’s a passion that’s resulted in sheer dominance at the sport’s highest level, including four straight Tire Manufacturer Cups and the only three-peat Driver’s champion Formula Drift has ever seen. As North America’s premier drifting series, Formula D has become a true proving grounds for Falken Tires, a place where the brand can look to its products, teams, and drivers to learn, grow, and succeed on the biggest stage.

Yet Falken knows the desire to drift exists at all levels. Grassroots events remain a staple within enthusiast communities across the country, with drivers from expert to novice getting involved however possible. This grassroots mentality is something Falken has supported since 2003, and according to Final Bout’s organizer, Ilia Smolov, it’s also the reason why Final Bout began six years ago. Understanding this deep-rooted connection, Falken Tires has agreed to become the Official Tire of Final Bout, announcing its participation at last weekend’s event held at Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney, Texas.

“Falken Tires is known for drifting on a grand scale, with big teams and world-class drivers,” said Nick Fousekis, Falken’s Director of Advertising and Promotions. “Falken recognizes the importance of professional drifting, and we believe winning demonstrates to both fans and drivers that our tires are built to perform in extreme conditions, but we have not forgotten the roots and the backbone of the drifting community, grassroots drifters, and classic drift car styling. Final Bout delivers in all the ways professional drifting cannot.”

“Final Bout is on a mission to show Americans classic drift culture,” said Smolov. “We’re here to introduce classic drift style to a new generation of drift fans, and we’re working with the best companies in the industry to make it happen.

“Falken Tires has become a key partner to me,” Smolov said. “So many of the coolest cars in the U.S. and Japan have showcased Falken’s iconic livery, and their tremendous contribution to drift history is simply unrivaled. They’re the only tire company I would ever choose to help grow Final Bout, and working with them has been an absolute privilege.”

“Partnering with Final Bout helps Falken connect with both our fan base and our customers on a personal level,” added Steve Wong, Falken Supervisor, Passenger Car Motorsports and Events. “We’ve long supported grassroots racing at all levels, but drifting is a sport where Falken knows best. We like what Final Bout is doing: preserving and sustaining those ‘early grassroots drifting-type’ vibes. We need more of that, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

The next Final Bout event will take place in California on March 15th at Horse Thief Mile in Rosamond, roughly 56 miles north of Los Angeles, followed by a second West Coast event April 4th at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in Canby, Oregon.
