Falken Tires Commits To Again Search For The Ultimate Street Car Through Its Sponsorship In 2021

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – Recognizing that grassroots motorsports consistently appeals to automotive enthusiasts throughout North America, Falken Tires, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., will return in 2021 for its seventh year as a sponsor to the Ultimate Street Car Association series, best known as “Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car.”

After 35+ years of outstanding results on the track, Falken has earned a reputation as a leader in high performance tires designed for all types of vehicles. From the Formula Drift Championship-winning AZENIS RT615K+ to the Nürburgring-conquering AZENIS FK510, and the long-awaited AZENIS RT660, Falken’s UHP products have developed a strong following among owners of sport compacts, muscle cars, luxury sport vehicles, and track-day cars.

Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car series has exploded into a national phenomenon. It's a series where anything from a 1930’s sedan to a 2020 Porsche 911 can compete on world-class racetracks under a fairly straightforward set of rules. Over the years, the series has also gone to great lengths to ensure the most-competitive vehicles really are legitimate street cars.
 
“As Falken has continued to expand its motorsports marketing efforts to reach distinctive audiences and inform them about the value of our product lines, we feel the series has increasingly proven its merit as a safe, exciting and extremely competitive environment,” stated Steve Wong, Falken’s Supervisor, Passenger Car Motorsports & Events. “Initially, we wanted to be a part of this. And seven years later, we still are.” Falken is the official Road Course Sponsor of the series.
 
Televised on MAVTV, all Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car events feature five competitive activities for true street-legal cars taking place at iconic tracks over a weekend that will award series points and event winners. Top points earners by the end of the series will receive coveted invites to the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational that takes place in Las Vegas every year during and after the SEMA show. Falken will further support the series by sponsoring top competitors, with expectations that many will meet at the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational in Las Vegas.
