Falken Tires’ Justin Hall Storms Through Visions Off-Road Course To Take 2nd In Class At Ultra4 Oklahoma
JAY, OK – Falken Tires and veteran team driver Justin Hall toughed out a grueling weekend at the MidAmerica Outdoors (MAO) Ultra4 event held at the Visions Off-Road course in Jay, OK, earning second place in the 4500 Modified Class.
MAO purchased the rights to the Ultra4 Racing Series in March 2022 and now manages all off-roading events save the annual King of the Hammers which the original Ultra4 owners will continue to oversee. Purses and participation have increased within the 2022 season, judging by the number of competitors taking part in the Visions Off-Road four-day event.
Hall began the long weekend struggling with qualifying, but still ended up 5th out of 26 race vehicles.
“The Visions course is notoriously tough,” Hall said. “At five miles long, there’s just so much loose dirt that visibility becomes a challenge due to the rising dust clouds. I had a hard time just seeing past the end of my hood.”
Despite the obstacles and the pressure of competing in a combined race with the 4800 Legends Class, Hall took second in his 4500 Class and a top-10 finish overall.
“I was pleased with my performance,” Hall added. “Even when I was dodging trees that seemed to appear out of nowhere, my Falken Wildpeaks were giving me the traction I needed over the varying surfaces we raced on.”
“Justin finished the race strongly without any tire or mechanical issues,” said Douglas Fletcher, Falken’s Supervisor, Light Truck and Off-Road Events. “His Wildpeak M/T tires just weaved through the rugged terrain of the Visions course and gave him the confidence to press on as hard as he did.”
Round 8 of the MAO ULTRA4 Racing Series moves to Sturgis, SD, for the “Black Hills Throwdown,” August 5-7, 2022.
