Falken Tires’ Teams Score Pair Of First Places In LOORS And Ultra4 Over Busy Offroad Race Weekend
CHANDLER, AZ / MOAB, UT – Team Falken driver Cole Mamer won another race in the Pro Lite Class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORS) in Chandler, AZ, while Falken veterans Dan Fresh and Mike Kim piloted their race rig built by SAVVY Offroad to a first place finish of their own in the 4500 Class of the Ultra4 race in Moab, UT.
Mamer had a busy weekend at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, participating in Rounds 6, 7, and 8 of the LOORS season. On Friday, Mamer made contact with another competitor that unfortunately shut off his kill switch. He recovered on Saturday, finishing second overall while earning the Fastest Lap Award for Round 7. Building upon Saturday’s strong showing, Sunday was all Mamer. He began the day as the fastest qualifier, recorded the fastest lap, and finished first overall in Round 8. As per usual, Mamer spent all weekend driving on Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires.
“Such a fun weekend,” said Mamer. “I wasn’t going to let Friday’s setback disturb me one bit. I like this track and I knew both my truck and my Wildpeaks could handle it well. I was focused on a win, and that’s exactly what we did on Sunday.”
Further north, Dan Fresh and co-driver Mike Kim competed in an Ultra4 series event (short for Unlimited 4 Wheel Drive Racing) in Moab, UT. Ultra4 moved the race from Reno, NV to the “Beatdown” in Moab due to COVID-19. The truck Fresh and Kim drove, running on Falken Wildpeak M/T tires, was strong from the moment it hit the dirt, helping the team win first in their class.
“This was an important race for us,” said Fresh. “It’s great to get back in the winner’s circle, but equally important, we were glad to be able to run Moab this year. We know it’ll be an important race on the 2021 Ultra4 calendar, so we’ll take a lot of what we learned from this run into next year. Obviously, we did things right and we’ll stay with what helps us win, and that defintely includes our Wildpeaks.”
“With the off-road season starting to wind down, it’s nice to grab a couple more victories,” added Falken’s Jonathon Bradford, Manager, Motorsports and Events. “As we head into the final events, I know our Falken teams are determined to finish up front, and that’s what we’re counting on.”
LOORS will hold Rounds 9 and 10 and its Challenge Cup at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA, October 16-18 while the Ultra4 National Championships are scheduled for October 23 at Crossbar Ranch in Davis, OK.
