Falken Tires’ Justin Hall Continues Midwest Run Taking 2nd In Class At Mao Ultra4 Sturgis Throwdown
STURGIS, SD – Falken Tires and veteran team driver Justin Hall threw most of the competition aside last weekend at the Black Hills MidAmerica Outdoors (MAO) Ultra4 Throwdown in Sturgis, South Dakota, claiming second in the 4500 Modified Class.
Hall qualified fourth, came in second in the heat race and finished second in the main event at the Buffalo Chip, a two-mile course featuring a wide variety of terrain. Hall ran Falken Wildpeak M/T tires and set fastest lap during the race.
The Morgan Hill, CA, native has run the MAO Ultra4 series throughout its recent Midwest tour, consistently earning podium positions aboard his sturdy Suzuki-based mount, the only one competing in a crowded field of Fords, Jeeps and Toyotas.
“This was a tough course,” Hall stated. “I had a continuing left front axle shaft issue throughout the main, but just kept the pressure on first place hoping he’d make a mistake so I could overtake him. I just couldn’t do it in time. Still, I’m happy with my second place. My Falken Wildpeak M/T tires never fail on me and I’m coming away from Sturgis with a fair amount of points.”
“Justin proved again that he’s one of the strongest drivers out there,” said Douglas Fletcher, Falken’s Supervisor, Light Truck and Off-Road Events. “He pushed as hard as he could and served notice on the leader – as well as the rest of the competitors in his class – that he meant business all day long. His Wildpeak M/T tires further enhanced his authority and that’s going to continue for the final two rounds.”
Round 9 of the MAO ULTRA4 Racing Series continues to stay in the Midwest region with one of the most popular events, The Crandon Classic, scheduled for September 2-4, 2022, in Crandon, WI.
